Courageous Change: Managing Change – Moving Into the Future

Courageous Change: Managing Change – Moving Into the Future
An NCFF Virtual Gathering for Ministry & Counsel Members, Meeting Leaders, Pastoral Ministers, and All Invested In the Future of their Local Meeting

October 17, 9:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Presenter: Rev. Dr. Lisa Withrow of Clear Transition Strategies
Sponsored by the Meeting Nurture & Development Committee

In her book, “How To Lead When You Don’t Know Where You’re Going” author Susan Beaumont writes, “Liminality refers to a quality of ambiguity or disorientation that occurs during transition, when a person or group of people is in between something that has ended and something else that is not yet ready to begin. Transition experiences follow a predictable pattern that involves separation, liminality, and reorientation.” Part of leadership is knowing how to discern and guide a local meeting through this time of transition. This gathering will offer content and conversation around how we as local meetings (and NCFF) can thrive and flourish as we journey through this transition.

In her work with Clear Transition Strategies, Dr. Lisa Withrow specializes in equipping congregations and organizations with the skills and awareness of how to lead through these transitions as well as understand what is known as a “liminality”. Our intentions are to use this day as a way to give us a framework in helping to lead and guide our local meetings and NCFF through this season of transition.

There is no cost for the retreat but we do need folks to register so we can get an accurate count as well as send Zoom link information. As October 17th draws closer, we will provide both the link and a schedule for the day.

Please register by Monday, October 12.
